Booking swimming lessons in Doha can be incredibly daunting if you are an adult non-swimmer, however I guarantee that making that decision is that hardest part. I have taught many adults that say they wish they hadn’t waited so long. The lessons are on a one-to-one basis and the trainer is in the water with you for support and guidance so you can learn at your own pace.

Fear can be addressed and cured, so long as you actually want to do it. There are a few people in Doha who have expressed interest in learning to swim only because there is either a pool in their compound, or they have extra time while in Doha and feel they “ought” to. And I say to these people, give it a go but you have to actually want to learn not just feel like you should. But please don’t let fear put you off. With patience you will be surprised at what you can accomplish.

As for children, well no better time to learn. Learning to swim should be a natural step in a child’s development and the key is for youngsters to have fun in the pool.Establishing a good relationship with water early on in the lessons is important. Water should be fun and comfortable for children and learning this skill early on will remain with them for life.

Safety around water is taught to children as a priority.

Learning to swim can open your world to a host of aquatic activities. If you have the confidence while in the water you can try any water sport that comes your way. You never know you might just find the sport you never knew you could love.
